Why you will love our traditional babouche shoes 🖤

Our leather and embellished fabric shoes, traditionally known as babouche, are handmade exclusively for Atelier M by highly skilled artisans in a small leather workshop in Marrakech. The raffia added to some of our shoes is inspired a traditional style of babouche from the coastal town of Essaouira.

The leather we use is a soft sheep hide which is finished and dyed by hand. Our babouche slippers are made entirely by hand and minor flaws and imperfections are characteristic of the materials and methods used, and only add to the beauty and character.

For a girl who cannot live without heels, our wedge babouche are the answer! Made as a glamorous alternative to slippers, or for light out door use, such as a poolside. However, for heavier daily out door use we would recommend that you add a further sole before you first wear them.

CARE INSTRUCTIONS

Our flat slippers are designed for indoor use only, and on smooth, dry surfaces. You may clean your babouche with a dry or slightly damp cloth. If a cleaner is needed please choose one specifically designed for leather or fabric and keep use of water to an absolute minimum.
